Cycle of Change Prints from the Cycle of Change series were inspired by readings from the “I Ching” or Chinese ‘Book of Changes.’ The images are the result of my personal interpretation of those texts in relation to contemporaneous world events. They reflect my interest in concepts like fate, chance, and luck and various systems of divination as well as discoveries in science and cybertechnology. The dark figures in my work represent universal human attributes as well as aspects of my own personality. The various elements are layered with maps and imagery appropriated from daily news and internet media, fused together using a combination of traditional and digital printmaking techniques.
