Sexuality is amorphous and indefinable; underlying aspects of eroticism’s unspoken rules surrounds us visually, emotionally, socially and privately. Intruding on our conscious, but rarely justified through action, sex and sexuality adhere to alternate states of attraction and repulsion that though observed are often undiscussed. Reliant on latent sexual desire, and fueled by a self-deprecating presence, my work appeals to the complex dichotomy of desire and repugnance. It is often a tongue-in-cheek joke on our inability to accept the dualistic nature of what could be seen merely as kitsch by revealing the seedy underbelly of ‘cuteness’ and denying any clear categorical reference for a defined reading.
