Spring 2020

Course #801

Nattaporn Luangpipat

It is a representation of how peace can be sensed and represented through the visual culture combining symbols and affect. The concept and representation of peace come in various shapes and forms and differ from one person to another because the perception and interpretation of peace relate to individual sensory experience and embodiment. For this image, in particular, the girl represents myself in many ways: being a beginner in the field, looking at the painting (a metaphor for my work) and pondering how I can create a space that makes people feel peaceful; and believing that peace is constructible (as the girl holds the brush).
