Prior to starting graduate school, I began to think about ways I make art when it feels hard to do so. Each day, I wrote a prompt and drew an accompanying sketch for myself about one way to engage with the creative process; for instance, grieve, persevere, nourish or rejoice. The poster is a four color screen print and composite image of many of these sketches. The leporello book is created from the poster and re-incorporates the original prompts with letter pressed type. Both the poster and the book were a collaboration with my daughter, who added some drawings and helped make the paste paper covers. I displayed these pieces along with an interactive element that asked viewers to draw or write a response to the question, "how do you make it?"
